i really enjoyed this, i really did. there were moments i loved and Penryn remains the amazing heroine she is, so does the dynamic between her and Raffe. it's just that I felt it didn't surpass the first book.

Once again I was completely captivated with this story line. You finally learn more about the angel politics that are at work in the system and realize that the angels have their own agenda which may not have come from God. Penryn's sister Paige gets more prominent in the story and the twist and turns in her tale are quiet intriguing. Again...this book left with a huge cliffhanger so I cannot wait to read the final installment.

I still think we don't get enough Raffe in this book, but I didn't mind it as much. I feel sorry for Penryn and everything that happened to her in this book.

I loved this book. I missed Raffe and was mad that we didn't get to see him until near the end. I cannot wait to finish up this series.

”I’ve had to watch you die once, isn’t that enough?”

5 stars. Even better than book one. I can say with confidence that this is definitely one of the best series about angels that I’ve ever read. There is never a dull moment with these books. It’s chock full of action from the very beginning, there’s humor, there’s awesome bad ass characters, fantastic writing and world building and just a teeny tiny hint of romance. It has it all basically.

Penryn is my favorite. That girl is awesome. She’s sharp and funny and so smart. Her love for her little sister is great and her relationship with Raffe gives me all of the feelings. Also, pair her up with a sassy sword (yes, the sword is sassy) named Pooky Bear and you’ve got a winning team.

Raffe is a babe and I love him so much. It takes a bit for him to show up in this one but when he did it was worth the wait. I swoon every time he opens his mouth.

I’m absolutely loving this series and I’m kinda mad that it’s only a trilogy but I cannot wait to see how everything wraps up.
adventurous lighthearted medium-paced
