This was a quick and fun read! Would be a great beach read! The mystery itself was not very intriguing and I guessed the murderer very early on. But, the story made up for itself with the character development and connections between the women! Karthyn’s chemistry knowledge was fun and I love when mysteries have that science element. It looks like this will be a series, and I definitely would read the next one!

This book has been on my TBR for months so when given an opportunity to review the ARC I couldn't say no. This book is an absolute delight. I laughed out loud multiple times and tore through it in a day because the pacing never lets up. The premise is completely wacky—three women all being cheated on by the same man team up to confront him, only to find him dead—but somehow it just works. The characters are grounded enough that the friendships feel believable, even as they spiral deeper into accidental crime-solving territory.

The plot moves at a clip, with hijinks layered on hijinks, but it never feels chaotic for chaos’s sake. With what they get up too, you'd think it would be but its never sh!tty... except when it is in a good way. IYKYK. Every new complication adds stakes or reveals character, which makes the whole ride feel intentional rather than slapstick. Also, and this is important: Tucker is a spectacular jerk, and by the second chapter, you’re not exactly mourning his demise. The romance subplot is adorable but the friendships are where it is at.

Chao’s writing is sharp, fast-paced, and very funny. She hits that sweet spot of banter, genuine emotional beats, and twisty plot.
