Too wordy, not enough development. Too slow.

The writing is flat-out beautiful. I think the way O’Farrell weaves the threads of this story together is just singular. I don’t have the words to accurately explain how exquisite this book is… she told me before I even started reading what was going to happen and she still managed to rip my heart out (but so smoothly that I was just in awe amidst my tears).
