If you're looking for a super quick read to whet your zombie appetite, then by all means, check this book out.

Don't expect World War Z.

Don't expect anything good.

It's cheesy soda pop lit.

Meh. Was I supposed to care about the main character? Hate him? I had a hard time telling.

7.1 out of 10 stars.

This was an interesting and very fast paced post apocalypse/zombie book. I've read dozens of books, and watched dozens of movies on this subject, and this is one the few that has a good explanation of how the un-dead plague happened, and their plausibility.

After reading Adair's Ebola K, this was a bit disappointing. The first half seems to have been written in a more childish frame of mind than the second half, but as far as Zombie - End of the World books go, it was nowhere near horrible or cliche. The idea of people being immune, but not totally recovered is an interesting spin on a cannibalistic outbreak. 3/5 for the way it is presented, but 5/5 on the concept.

Surprised by this. I really enjoyed it because it isn't just more of the same. Already bought books 2-4.

A more standard version of zombies, though with some infected (such as the main character) being infected yet not an actual zombie. This types are known as Slow Burns and have an semi-immunity to both the virus and their dangerous full-zombie counterparts. Worth a read for those not interested in the "out there" zombie books where there are a multitude of zombies with speciality abilities, hive minds, etc.

Really enjoyed this book about the apocalypse. Most zombie books are just that, another zombie book, but this story keeps it interesting. The zombies themselves have different characteristics than your typical undead. The human characters are likable and the action never slows down. I would definitely recommend this story.
