Estée is one of my favorites on YouTube. So of course I wanted this book in my hand, and it’s so beautiful! Unfortunately, this is not a great book. Well, I don't think we should have expectations that this is a life-changing book. I would have probably given Bloom a higher grade, if it was not for lack of depth. Sure, she describes how life has been hard. But never really explains how she felt. I guess, if you're a fan you would like this.

I found this book to be an interesting exploration. She discusses many topics that this book is hard to categorize. I would say it is a memoir with a self-help bent. I also tested all of her recipes. I enjoyed the read but am not sure I really learned a ton.

It started off promising. I enjoyed how the author discussed certain mental health issues and how they manifest differently for everyone. The rest of the book didn't have much to offer in terms of advice or insight. A lot of it seemed to be just letters to loved ones, which doesn't make for great book material, in my opinion.

I absolutely love Estee and can completely relate to her experiences growing up. Where was this book when I was a teen? I do wish there were a few less pictures and more content however. Great addition to my library.

I absolutely love Estee's videos, and have followed her for a few years now. I enjoy her social media presence, her boyfriend Aslan is an extremely talented photographer. I think they're both going places and I love their overall sense of style and grace. And while I liked Estee's book, I didn't love it.
For awhile now Estee has been rebranding herself and her channel into more lifestyle than just beauty, which I was all here for! So I assumed her book would be within that same vein, more grownup and whole. Much more mature and sophisticated. Unfortunately for me it fell flat in that regard. This struck me as a personal diary written for someone's teenage self. A manual for self-navigation during trying times. I liked what she had to say in some of the sections, and I thought her opening up about her family, the start of her relationship with Aslan, and mental illness were all big wins. Much of the rest of it though was left to be desired.

I also recently read Buffering by Hannah Hart, and that is the kind of memoir I was looking for from Estee. Not necessarily such a personal dive into her entire life, but a grown up novel by a grown up woman for grown ups. Estee is fantastic on the screen, she makes gorgeous videos and her vlogs are really fun. She is truly one of my favorite people on the internet, I just don't think that she is a writer. As a 25/26 year old she wrote something I would expect out of a teenager. I will continue to support her endeavors and I'm glad I picked this up but it could have and should have been so much more!

Best book I've read this year and one that I will always keep! I can see myself having a crappy day and pulling this out to recenter and love myself better. Loved it!

This was a quick read, as it's kind of like a coffee table book with a bit more substance. I've been a fan of Estée's videos for several years, though I don't read her blog very much. As can happen with these types of books, I found a lot of it to be recycled content and things I was already familiar with. There were some tidbits here and there, but nothing groundbreaking. This is worth flipping through (with beautiful photos!) but doesn't go much deeper than you'd expect.
