oh, the sausages! if Oberon ever writes his book - I want a a copy! but seriously, this book is about Atticus isn't it? His past comes back to haunt him again and the introduction of Owen is a snarky edition which i love!

Better than the last few - really toned down the corny jokes and the romance plotlines. Less awesome than it should have been - so much potential squandered. This is the first time in the series where every chapter switched pov's between the different druids - which I liked! I liked seeing each character through the other's eyes - but there was very little personality difference between any of the characters. Atticus spent the whole series complaining that Owen was a horrible, nasty human being, and rightly warned that he would need time to evolve contemporary morals and manners. And yet, within a few pages, Owen has already adapted to the world, is making friends, and become a slightly-cranky mush!
I enjoyed reading it, but mourn how good it could have been.

Series I got into that I really only read now because i want to hear what happens to the characters. Especially Oberon. I find myself skimming over a lot of the story.

I had fond memories of this series, but, man, could *not* get into this one. I liked that they brought in Atticus' mentor, and suspect he could be interesting, but I never particularly got into the dogs, and then they were in India and it all felt a little .... uncomfortable. In the end, I gave up.

I really enjoyed this booked. What I liked was being able to hear everyone's perspective. Up until now, Atticus has been the primary story teller. This time around we get to hear Granuaile's and Owen's perspective and that was a refreshing take. The plot in this one improved as well to me compared to the last 2 books in the series.

For a series that seemed nothing more than Dresden-lite at first glance, Kevin Hearne has expanded the mythology significantly to make it stand apart and Shattered builds on the past work and delivers a nifty book, that is engaging and entertaining. More druids, more fun but Oberon remains the scene-stealer as always. There is a sense of the series building towards something big

I absolutely love this series. It's funny, quick witted, superb pop culture references, and most importantly, complex, relatable characters. I recommend this series to all of my friends and family. This book was the first book that I have ever preorder so that I could read it as soon as possible. I pretty spent the whole day reading the book because I couldn't put it down.
This would probably be marked as my favorite because not only do we get the great dialogue from Attacus's point of view but also Granuaile and Owen (Attacus's arch druid!). Kevin Hearne does a fantastic job giving each character a distinctive voice for their POV's and utilizes their POV's to expand the story and reveal more of the plot and the spiraling events that have been rocking Attacus's life. I won't spoil anything, so I'll just say it is another great edition to the Iron Druid Chronicles, and an absolute enjoyment. I cannot wait for the next book!

I read this book in 2 and a half hours...enough said. Ok, maybe not quite enough...Kevin Hearne is a maestro and I wish we could hang out so I could pick his brain.
