I don't know what the author put into this book, but I finished it in one sitting and thank God I'm on vacation. It gave me everything: emotion, romance, charming protagonists and a story to dream about.
I Loveeeed Miles and Annie, Miles made me laugh with every joke, his big heart and his ducky shorts, I just loved him and Annie, my girl, I just wanted to give her a big hug for everything she thinks, I saw a little bit of myself in her and that made me love her. The mystery with her stalker left me speechless, it was so well written, just wow, I had my suspicions, but since I'm not a good detective, I never found out who it was. It was resolved in a way that surprised me, mostly because of Annie's strength, no doubt this book will become one of my favorites.

I love Maggie Gates. I’ve loved everything I’ve ever read of her, but this one might just be my favorite so far (excluding Dust Storm because hello, representing our gruff big boys).
Miles was a fun, chaotic mix of protector and friend. The swim trunks and crocs? Perfection. His never ending positivity while still being grounded in reality? Perfection.
Annie. Oh, my sweet Just Annie. As someone with anxiety, I appreciated the way Annie was portrayed. I related to her so hard. I get stuck in my own brain. I spiral. And it was beautiful the way Miles helped pull her out.
I’m pretty sure this book has the most highlights I’ve done in a while and I will absolutely read it again.

I found this audio on Hoopla and wanted to read it before the second one. It started out slow for me, but it got better as it went on. Miles, the MMC, is a golden retriever hero. He's so happy all the time. He has numerous nick names for people, which kinda got annoying. It was difficult for me to see him get serious in the steamy scenes since he was such a goofball. I did like how he protected her and taught her self-defense. The ending was long and drawn out once the mystery was solved. I was like...there's more to the story? LOL

I definitely waited too long to read this one!
Well I am going to start off with telling you that you should not wait and if you haven’t read this one you need to immediately! Maggie has outdone herself with this one.
Let’s start with probably the best book boyfriend I have ever read. Miles is amazing, he’s here for a good time, unless it’s time to be serious then it’s like he flips a switch and it all business. And when he meets Annie he has a hard time being the man he should be instead of the man he wants to be.
Annie is a writer who likes to hide behind a larger than life persona because she honestly feels that no one will be interested otherwise. But then she meets Miles and questions everything.
Maggie has written a fast paced roller coaster that you are not going to want to get off of. But then again that’s what I’ve come to expect from her. I am a fan and if you haven’t read any of her books this is a great place to start!!
