This summer will be different is my first Carley Fortune book and I really enjoyed it. Set against the backdrop of a gorgeous island and narrated in a non linear fashion, the book takes us through a whirlwind romance between Lucy and Felix while simultaneously giving us a fantastic bff trope b/w Lucy and Bridget. This summer will be different also has a lot of emphasis on self discovery, growth and making hard choices. It is a slow burn, girl bestie’s brother trope that was done quite well. My fellow romance girlies who dreams of living on an island with running their own little business would really enjoy this book!
The audiobook narration was great as Carley herself was on of the narrator. It was a fun, summery, breezy read on the whole that is reminiscent of Emily Henry(in a very good way) style of contemporary take on slice of life kind of stories .

HUGE The Paper Palace vibes and big shock here: The Paper Palace was on the author's: "Books I read and loved while writing TSWBD" list. I devoured this one. It was just so easy to love the characters and the ~forbidden romance~ even if it was all a little dramatic.
(I am leaving off a star for the repetition of "More. Felix." and Lucy's chest turning red when she's blushing. Those things got old. Fast.)
