One of the excellent book on design. Instead of talking about cliches this book talks about very practical tips and gives an insight on how the designers mind works when he takes each tiny decisions.
A good and quick read with nice visual examples. A must for any developer. Most designers SHOULD know this stuff (but clearly don't if the current state of the web is any indication). Gets to the point, doesn't mess around with unnecessary details.
Read this in an entire afternoon.
The underlying concepts that make UIs great seem simple, but implementing and mastering them is not. The book aims to cut through the clutter of fads and trend-driven designs and design systems, and teach you practices that will apply equally to small apps as well as complex ones.
It's a timeless book, inasmuch as browser vendors won't change the way things are measured on the web anytime soon. The authors give you enough knowledge about broad design areas to help you approach design in an informed, systematic, and easy-to-predict way that'll save you time and headaches, and also look polished and professional.
It's ideal for non-designers as well as UI designers at the beginning of their careers, or those who've made a switch from design for print and other real-world media into design.

This book is great! It has very useful, simple tips and it includes visualizations for them which makes the book very easy to read. The book is primarily made for developers that have little to no knowledge about design, but I believe there’s no such thing as “too much knowledge” and as a designer I appreciate the supplementary information this book provided.
I'm starting to realize that as a front-end developer, I had no idea of designing UI's before. It explains it's ideas with nice examples and sketches and also, for example, gave me nice approach in using white space in my designs: "A better approach is to start by giving something way too much space, then remove it until it you’re happy with the result." It may seem simple but I wasn't aware how much this can help me. I would recommend it to you if you are a developer or a junior product owner/manager for a better understanding of designing web pages without a designer.

It's a really great, practical breakdown UI that's so well done, easy to follow, and easy to apply right away. If you buy the complete set, you also get great color palettes and font selections and a bunch of other things. The only reason it's not a 5/5 is because, while it does a great job of breaking down the page and dissecting different components, it doesn't go into much detail about how to put those components together and make a cohesive layout. That's what was missing for me. Otherwise, totally worth the read!
An amazing book! It was jam-packed with smart tips to help a developer like me make better-looking UIs for my projects. I will reference this for years to come.

Amazing!! I'm feeling so inspired and excited to improve The StoryGraph's UI now. 😁
