So I really wanted to like this book, because the author comes highly recommended, but I just really disliked the characters from the start. And it made me not want to continue. They just seemed to be a bit one dimensional and stereotypical. And in addition to all this, the set up of the spooky aspect was not interesting enough to hook me in.

I enjoyed this one! Lots of great foreshadowing that leads to a plethora of dark secrets that unfolded and kept me hooked in. It was a tad predictable but that didn’t bother me.

3.5 rounded up to 4. This was a fun atmospheric thriller. I loved the setting of Ravens Head and wish that we would have spent more time in the
There were definitely some creepy moments. I loved the twist. And even though you find out fairly early on what is happening it still didn’t take away from the suspense of watching the story unfold. I read this pretty quickly, it was very well paced and entertaining.

Meh, it was alright. I liked the twists but the ending was just a little unrealistic. Every character is insufferable, I wish we got more Spooky Island before the twist, and most of all the daughter’s name being Lark really irked me for some reason.

I was actually shook and creeped out several times and did not see the twist/reveal at the end which was nice. but i was annoyed at several overused tropes of cheating and teenager catfish. it was a good listen
