It was okay. Neither characters really clicked for me and a lot of the material seemed to be recycled from previous books. The scars, the loss of a baby, lack of confidence, etc. It just felt long for such a short book. Honestly I would have much rather had a full book about Brit and Ollie or another about Cam and Avery.

This had to be my favorite book from the series. I loved that Brock and Jillian had a history.

It's been a while since I was last in this world so I was worried I wouldn't remember who was who, thankfully I fell into the pages like I had never been away. I loved getting to see old faces and catch up with them, as well as seeing how lives can change from past events. I felt sorry for Jillian in what she has dealt with an how long it's taken to overcome the hurdles, but I liked seeing how confident she becomes throughout her journey within the pages. I did initially think she was jumping into things a bit too fast, remembering things from the past and letting that influence her judgement in the present, but seeing how things have changed on both sides did leave a positive aspect to this. I loved getting to catch up with old faces and see what they are up to now, especially with help from Jillian.

Dnf. I didn't care for the characters when they were introduced in the last book and i don't care now. Nothing about the book captured my attention.

I don't know if I'm let down after all of the hype or because JL is usually one of my go-to authors, but I feel disappointed. I don't feel like there was enough of a story of character development. I was left feeling like I needed more . . . I needed more of Jillian as a character, more of Brock as a character and then more of them building a relationship. I can't leap from shoving someone out of your life for years with zero communication to "well, I've always loved you so lets be together". There needs to be way more between those points. I feel like it's becoming way to common rush stories and throw away character and story development. I've been too disappointed with books lately. Honestly, the most exciting bits of Fire in You were with characters from previous books (Cam, Avery, etc) in the series and getting a little catch up on their lives.
