giving this book an extra star for mentioning my favorite harry styles song, the rest was meh
This book is fantastic! It has tropes I love (spice coach, he reads her books, fake dating!). Clay is a total golden retriever for her and is just a sweet lovable guy.
Gia is sweet but fierce and shy. I can’t tell you how but she’s both insecure and totally confident in different ways. I loved her journey and how the relationship between the two built.
The side characters are so good and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

okay, so I accidentally read this without realizing it was the second book in the series, but honestly? Zero regrets. It absolutely holds up on its own, and now I just get the bonus of going back to read Fair Catch after already loving Kandi Steiner’s writing.
This book has everything I love—fake dating (aka one of the greatest tropes of all time), a touch of angst, and the perfect balance of steam and emotional depth. Clay and Giana? Yeah, they had me hooked. Their dynamic is so good—football star and the shy, bookish girl? Sign me up. And watching their fake relationship turn into something so much more was just chef’s kiss.
One thing Steiner does so well is writing characters that feel real. Clay isn’t just your typical confident jock—he has layers, insecurities, and moments that make you ache for him. And Giana? She’s navigating her own struggles, but watching her step into her confidence? Loved every second of it.
Also, let’s talk about the chemistry. Because wow. The tension in this book was immaculate, and when things finally escalate? Yeah, I had to take a moment. Or several.
The only reason this isn’t a full 5 stars for me is because there were a couple of moments where I wanted more—more emotional fallout, more conversations between them after the big moments. But honestly? That’s just me being greedy because I never wanted it to end.
If you love fake dating, sports romance, and a hero who falls first and falls hard, Blind Side is an absolute must-read.

A solid, well-executed sports romance with healthy communication and emotional maturity, making Connor and Riley’s relationship one of the healthiest in the series. While the third-act conflict resolves a bit too quickly, it allows for a satisfying HEA for all the couples.
Compared to the second book, this one didn’t hit as hard emotionally, but it’s the perfect read between darker romances—light, engaging, and well-balanced. Kandi Steiner stands out in the genre for her nuanced, grown-up take on college romance, making this a worthwhile addition to her collection.

HEAR ME OUT BUT BEFORE I BEGIN I HAVE TO STATE THAT I HATE REAL PEOPLE COVERS—ESPECIALLY SHIRTLESS MEN—JUST WHY ⁉️⁉️⁉️
okay so
the beginning/whole premise of fake dating to get the people you’re interested in to notice you is so cliché and also has never made sense to me
BUT hoo boy, idk what it was (probably the first smut scene actually LMAO) but I got hooked at one point

This is The Deal in a different font and sport. I’m all for fake dating, I just don’t love multiple books using a parent figure is blackmailing me, oh no!! Let me break up with my partner instead of talking to them about the craaaazy ass situation they’re in.
I also thought this was a basketball book, and it very much is not.
The “epilogue” did not need to be a thing. It wasn’t even about Giana and Clay. So silly. Make it a sneak peek into the next book in the series if that’s what we’re gonna do.
