I could usually guess what was coming next. It was also a little confusing with all the characters and the different kind of society that they live in.
This book was everything when I was a child, I didn't quite enjoyed it now but when I was younger this book was my first step to fantasy. The creativity of Phillip Pullman for this book is amazing, the book is genius and really well written. I think this is the perfect children book, and definitely one of the books that build my book interest now. I have such an affection for this book.
fantastic. i usually dont give books high ratings but i wanted to break the streak of bad books (so i burnt the last one i had read.) but as soon as i started reading this one i was hooked. i love the characters the plot had me interested and i couldnt figure out what would happen. it wasnt obvious. and i loved how the whole daemon thing wasnt just laid out and explained, but instead you pick up on the ideas of it as you go along (enough to write a paper about!)

My mom bought me the trilogy in 2017. I started reading this book, but wasn't interested in it and stopped a few chapters in.
I took it off the shelf a few days ago, deciding to give it a try.
I am very happy with myself for that.
I couldn't put it down.
I gave it four stars instead of five because sometimes it was a little boring. Mostly in the beginning. I understand that all fantasy books are like that, I think. It's a genre I don't read often, if at all.
When I understood the world, and everything going on, I stayed up late at night, telling myself I would read just one more chapter.
You know how that goes.
I'm excited to read the next book. But at the same time, I'm afraid that the adventure will end too fast.
I will lose all my friends and lovers, my family.
