I'm not marking it as finished, because I started it and found myself really bored.
Initially I started this book because I know a ton of people that have raved over it, and I was looking for something new to feast on. I REALLY liked the idea of animal companions that represent people's inner psyche, especially.
I got about 1/3rd of the way into the story and just couldn't force myself to continue. It wasn't holding my interest.

When I first started reading this book, it was quite good but then it started getting boring. I didn't even finish reading this book and left it.

Loved the whole His Dark Materials trilogy. Though the first book in a new series always has something extra magical, when you're first figuring out a new unknown world. This created universe is just incredible: the whole concept of a soul outside one's body in the form of an animal blew my mind. They give symbolism to the characters' characters. This book is just incredible: adventures are magical, the main character lovable and to be admired and the deeper layers in the book made it exquisite in so many ways.

I didn't think I would enjoy this as much as I did. it pulled at my heart strings, made me smile. The end almost had me in tears. I am looking forward to the 2nd book.
