And my relationship with Ian Rankin and Rebus continues, another compelling police procedural and I can see now why they were so popular for a TV series.

What did strike me (excuse the pun) was the drastic change in Holmes and Nells relationship it just goes to show that there are motivations in us all, if we choose that path to hurt those we love.

Roll on Book 6 Mortal Causes as sadly last two library pics just weren't for me!

Rebus investigates a fire which occurred at an Edinburgh pub five years previously. There are people who don't like his delving and Rebus is in way too deep, his brother ends up hanging from the Forth Bridge whilst Rebus unwittingly acquires the gun which was used in the murder which the fire was covering up.

Yet another interesting and convoluted case for Rebus. Enjoyable as always.

This book was ok but didn't particularly enjoy the storyline as much as I have done with previous Rebus books. Still loving all the scottish words and phrases though - "boak!" And the "some hae meat..." which reminds me of my mum saying it before every christmas dinner!!
