Ahhh I'm not crying YOU ARE. This was so sweet. A mix between American Royals and What A Girl Wants. Also Radish are you kidding me?? (Iykyk).

Side note: this was so cute that I had to add a new shelf just to commemorate my emotions.

2.5, rounded down.

It's a very lighthearted novel, perfectly predictable in every way. I found some of the moments to be enjoyable to read, and I appreciated the material discussing the Asian American in-between identity, even though said territory has been run to the ground.

Interestingly, the book seems to poke fun at various cliches, but doesn't really subvert them at all, instead relying on the same tropes it claims to be avoiding to move the plot forward.

I’m too old for this cliche plot

Omg this was soo good. I'm sad I didn't read it sooner. Probably the best book I will read this year.

5 STAR. OH EM GEE. i loved this so so so much

Overall I enjoyed the story. It was a quick and lighthearted read. There are some little things that could be improved with further editing.
