This was fun, it took me a bit to get into it because I just wasn’t that interested in the premise but the relationships were realistic and the main characters voice was distinct enough to make it interesting. The Japanese cultural aspects were interesting and explored to some extent. Based on plot and tropes this was extremely YA but not in a bad or annoying way.

This book was...not good (for me) I couldn't care for Izumi, she was way too immature for my liking and althoug I liked Akio, their romance was so instalove that I wasn't into it.

This was a really fun, easy read. Reminiscent of The Princess Diaries.
