I'm big Deaver fan ever since I read my 1st Lincoln Rhyme story. The Never Game and Colter Shaw do not disappoint. Just when you think you have it figured out, you realize that you don't. A fun read that keeps you guessing. Looking forward to the other books in the Colter Shaw series.

It was an okay story but I was kind expecting more from this first book. Admittedly, I’m coming off the tv show, but the pacing of this novel was kind of slow.
I also was not a fan of the multiple endings. I know they’re trying to set up the overarching mystery as well as plop down some recurring characters, but the whole conclusion seems messy. It could’ve been cleaned up to make the developments line up a little nicer and distinct.
I’ll still probably read the next in the series as I know many a series that has improved by book two. And this has a promising premise and main character; the writing and pacing just need to improve.
