20% plot, 80% romance. Fun and frothy, with minimal stakes. I wish we’d seen more connections between Cassie and Erin (Cassie’s upbringing, Erin’s divorce, their age gap, etc), but the only real issue was when or how Erin’s daughter, Parker, would find out. Still, the best contemporary sapphic romance novel I’ve read

This book was super cute and the main romance made my heart glow. I have never loved the age-gap forbidden romance, but this one was very well done.

That said, there was some repetitiveness that ended up annoying me to the point of docking one point.

Overall, very good book and very satisfying resolution!

4/5

Look, the sex scenes in this book were off the charts steamy. The book was super sexy and I loved Erin and Cassie's relationship. But I couldn't suspend my disbelief at the way Parker responded upon finding out about the relationship.

Things I liked: the very real and complex characters, and their interpersonal dynamics; the steamy scenes; the way Erin and Cassie met and their general relationship vibe. Things I didn't like: Erin being Parker's mom; throwaway storylines that helped the plot (Cassie's lack of family comes to mind although as I reflect more, I *know* that is exactly how it would actually be).

I'm going to sit with this one a while. I really appreciated how this very straight trope was turned on its head but not just lifted and shifted to make it a FF romance - instead, the nuance and extra layers that would of course be part of FF relationships were present, making it that much better and more real. I loved the HEAness of it all but just couldn't shake some pieces, and I think that's a Me problem.

I loved this book! It was a great start to 2025 and a surprising 5 star read. I enjoyed the characters and the age gap/forbidden love tropes were done well. I think it was really nice to see the growth Parker went through even if it was off page. It was predictable but I really appreciated Parker not being the one upset by Cassie and Erin's relationship.

I especially loved the epilogue closing up the future of these characters.

I liked this. The plot was interesting to me and I’m just happy there was no 3rd act break up.
