If not for the sex scenes, this could have been a YA romance. The dialogue wasn’t for me. A quick read, but I felt myself rolling my eyes more than having fun

This book gave me a huge ick!!!! Yikes! No! However I did like the side characters and there WAS chemistry….. albeit very yuck dynamics.
This was everything. The tension, the smut, the characters it was all perfect. After reading both of Meryl’s books they’re def entering my auto buy romance author list. I enjoyed this book’s exploration of queer joy and letting yourself have the things that make you happy.

I…. This… I mean this book was EVERYTHING it needed to be. It was sexy, it was heartfelt, it was passionate, it was humorous, it was clever, it was… very well done. I felt the characters were well written, the conversational matter was realistic, and the overall book was so well paced. I didn’t ever really feel rushed, nor drug along. I enjoyed every page, every conversation, every scene. The ONLY thing I wished there were more of was Cassie’s back story and upbringing, but I understand it being hard to weave in such raw emotions about parental relationships when the focal point of the book is an age gap couple haha. All that to say…. When it comes to fictional sapphic romance, this is in my top 5.

I truly wanted to like this one based on the shenanigans in the premise alone, but I struggled.
The lack of plot outside the main conflict bummed me out and I often had a hard time believing Erin and Cassie's connection. I just couldn't believe that their first encounter was so mind-blowing that they were immediately obsessed with each other (car hookup outside a bar? c'mon)—especially for Erin to continue the secret hookups *right away* **at Parker's school**.
I almost DNF'd a couple of times, but I was admittedly curious about how we would get a HEA.
One thing I did appreciate was Erin's work to do what makes her happy, not what she "should" do. I think that's a great message. I just didn't believe the situation would end in a good relationship between her and Parker or her and Cassie.
