Jean messed with Wyatt's results because she LOVED him? All the murders/attempted murders... got a little lame.  Killed off almost everyone to solve conflict. I also don't understand why Segrid would continue to need the eel after being revived. It doesn't make sense.

I liked Segrid and Val and Nora. I liked the linguistic portions. Ending came too suddenly after the drama.

Not a bad read. Different than something I would usually try, but the plot of finding a young girl in ice, unfreezing, and trying to find her history was intriguing.

3.5 rounded up.

This was an interesting thriller based on a premise that's slightly unbelievable but if you can get past the possibility of an ice-age era young girl being thawed from ice and living, you will enjoy this story a whole lot more.

Val gets called to the Arctic circle when a young girl is discovered in the ice and brought back to life speaking a language no one knows. Lured by the strange phenomenon and looking for answers regarding her twin brother's death, Val travels to the far north and develops a bond with a girl who shouldn't be alive.

Great on audio, narrated by Vivienne Leheny who really brings the story to life. I really enjoyed this thriller more than I expected to and definitely recommend for mystery/thriller fans looking for a unique experience.

On a roll with excellent reads so far this year! Really enjoyed this- tense, mysterious, and perfect for a winter read. My ONLY gripe is that somehow no one got any form of frostbite despite the frigid temps and being outside & underdressed šŸ˜…
