Pros:
*This is an Audible original and as such the narration is well done. 5 stars for the narration.
*Complex female characters
*The development of the relationship between the characters was what kept me listening

Cons:
*Anachronisms
*Mystery was predictable
*I prefer my mysteries to be more grounded than this story is by a wide margin. Or if they are this wild, to be more tongue in cheek about it. This is a wild ride taken seriously, which I guess is not my thing in mysteries.

I do not regret the time I spent with this book because the narration was so well done and I enjoyed the evolution of the relationships, but I won’t likely listen to book 2.

very unique and my first audiobook. I enjoyed the narration. the story was all over the place and I’m not interested by mafia storylines usually. it was just okay. I would have liked to see more of their relationships with their husbands while they were still alive

7/10.

A fun read. A good way to pass time.

4 widows are left reeling from a plane crash that killed their spouses. Chaos ensues. It’s drama, and more drama and some damn good voice acting.

The four partners of a law firm dying in a plane crash on the first page, thinking their last thoughts and regrets? Immediate attention grabber. Young Rich Widows had me enraptured from the beginning. This 80s thriller is twisty, emotionally provocative, and mysterious.

Four widows at a Christmas party learn of their spouses' demises, setting in motion a journey that reveals dark secrets hidden in their relationships. Who was responsible? How far will they go to keep the windows from exposing their secret?

This book has me tearing up, gasping, and second guessing myself. I love the epilogue showcasing an interview between the widows and the authors. The fourth wall break is so unique and funny after a tense read.

Thank you to @netgalley, Kimberly, Layne, Cate, Vanessa, and @sourcebooksfire for this egalley!

The second half of the book was good, but this is a light hearted mystery with four women solving their partners murder.

📖: 4 women (Krystle, Justine, Camille, Meredith) become unexpected widows after their husbands plane crashes. All 4 men were law partners at a Providence law firm. The crash was outside NYC, but they weren’t supposed to even be in New York and a large sum of money is missing. The 4 windows set off to find the truth.
💭: This was a fun, entertaining popcorn-style thriller. Not serious at all (mob life, strippers)! It was more action packed and less of a drama/cat fight. Loved the setting (1985 Providence, RI). The characters were tricky to keep track off for the first half. I will read the sequel when it’s released as paperback!
✍️: female friendship, lawyers, mob, betrayal, fear, loss, empowerment, cancer

It's just not all that interesting. I was expecting it to be like Real Housewives with murder, and it definitely has the petty drama that you get from Real Housewives. And it did get more exciting towards the end. But a majority of the book was just very hard to get really into for me. I needed it to be more captivating, more twisty.
