I think I loved this second instalment in the Christmas series even better than the first one.
We have a dual perspective and we are in Victorian England and things are not going well. Not for Amelia Wishart, nor for Father Christmas. Then things are set in motion and lives start to change.
Loved it.

Finished this in one day of being on trains for over 5 hours. I liked this one better than its prequel and I'm sure these books will become new children's classics. What I liked particularly about this one was the amount of history that was worked in: chimney sweepers, working houses, Dickens, Queen Victoria, etc. That just makes it really nice. And Matt Haig just had a delightful way of writing and telling stories. Really nice read!
This book was a pleasant Christmas read, however i didn't find it very captivating or overly full of Christmas spirit.
A brilliantly written book that will definitely get you in the festive mood. A perfect story for older children to read on their own, or just as ideal for parents to read to younger kids and mums and dads will absolutely enjoy this one too. A must have for your Christmas book collection.
I love it. It makes me so happy to read books from this universe.

Mi s-a parut mai slabă decât prima carte din serie. I-aș fi dat mai multe steluțe, dar nu am putut trece peste modul în care s-a făcut pedepsirea personajului negativ.

1st Re-Read- July 2019 for The Book Junkie Trials (Apothecary Tower) and Reading Rush (Title with 5 or more words)
- Actual Rating 4.5 Stars. When I initially decided on my TBR for Reading Rush I was in the biggest Christmas mood and whilst I still am in a way (I'm literally always in a Christmas mood), this is probably the worst week for me to read a Christmas book as the weather in the UK is insanely warm. All that aside I still loved this book just as much as I did the first time I read it and I can't wait to read it for a 3rd time come December.

Reading this book has definitely made me feel 1000% more festive! This was such a lovely story with great messages about hope and believing in magic. A really fun adventure story with fantastic characters and illustrations.
