This was a very enjoyable read. I recommend this if you’re into sports romance or romance in general. This book is the reason I started watching formula one and how I got obsessed. 🤩

I’m not going to lie, this book took me a while to finish because I’ve been in a reading slump the last couple of weeks. But honestly it’s not the book, it’s me. 😅
I feel like this book actually helped me want to read and look forward to it.

I loved this world and I just wanted to be a part of it. I’m excited to read about the other character’s books now that I have an idea of who they are and their relationships.

This book is a solid 4 stars for me.
I loved Noah’s character development and how much he changed.
The romance was a bit of a slow burn but the tension throughout was so good.

I also loved the friendships and the family aspect of the book and how Noah found  people who truly loved him for who he is instead of his fame. 🥹

I thought that it was a really good debut novel and I’ve heard this isn’t even the best in the series so I’ll definitely read the rest. 🩷

Maybe it’s because I already watch F1 racing and the behind the scenes on Netflix, but I really enjoyed this book. I do agree that the beginning was slow but there is a lot to the race. My heart was literally racing the first chapter 😮‍💨

Unpopularity opinion, so far I’m enjoying this series more than the Dreamland Billionaires series. I recognize that I am the type of reader that needs more context in the stories I read which is why I liked this book a lot.  It not only focused on the relationship but everything else that was happening. Maya and Noah compliment each other so well 💕 I was melting while reading the softer moments in the book.

Having an interest in F1 Racing (or at least race car drivers...) helps. Noah has good character growth (we love to see a man voluntarily enter therapy!). "Brother's rival now teammate" is a new one.

You don't need to know jack shit about F1 racing to read this book. It doesn't go into deep detail b/c racing is really just a subplot to get the characters in the same place. Like if you know racing cars they go fast like me, then don't hold back reading it. Super cute love story, I loved that the MMC didn't just pout during their break but actually worked on himself and getting to be the man that the FMC deserves. I debated giving 4 stars, just because it took me a minute to get into it (listening wise). the girl VA is the same as "Carrie Soto is Back" and it took me a while to stop picturing Carrie as the FMC and to picture Maya. Maya isn't of a hard ass as Carrie so hearing that voice for her was hard, Maya is more shy. But I ended up loving her being the VA as her because Maya is so sassy it works.

super cute, especially at the end when maya had to help noah win his race. the writing styles annoyed me at times i felt it was too explanatory but still a really good story. loving my sports romances lately

This was fun & sexy. The writing wasn't necessarily the best (a lot of tell instead of showing) and Noah seemed to have whiplash on some of the decisions he would make during his POV chapters vs. what he actually went and did. But if you're looking for a fun romance set in the world of Formula 1, this is a great read. I appreciated how both leads were supportive of each other and gave each other pushes to grow.

Fear is not always a weakness. It's what you do with the fear that shows your true strength.

Arghhh, I’m so conflicted about
Throttled. I didn’t dislike it, but I also didn’t love it. And that is so weird to me. This first part in the Dirty Air-series by Lauren Asher embodies everything I am: a hopeless romantic and an F1 lover - so it pains me that I didn’t fully fall head over heels with it. It was a book that when I picked it up I flew through it, but as soon as I put it down it started to collect dust.

Okay, but what are the positive things I took away from reading Throttled? For starters, I adore all the little F1 details. From the way the press conferences are described ("F1 panels are juicy. You'll enjoy it, I know it.), to little comments on the weekend format, to the complete bashing of the guys that drive in the sport (“These racers and their egos, fragile little things.”). Was it all realistic? No, not at all. Having someone who doesn’t work on the pitwall come on the radio during the race? The fact that there is never a formation lap? But that is me picking bits out.

Will I be reading the rest of the series? Probably, but I’m not rushing to get into the rest. And while Maya and Noah had an interesting dynamic and I cracked up multiple times because of the situations they were put in, I can’t picture how the other pairings will be.
