So many names to remember - it was like a Russian novel. And slow! My God, DNA results have come back to Maury quicker than the mysteries were solved. And it still had a lot of unanswered familial questions! If there's a sequel, I will read it, just to get some closure.
Amazing. Months on and I'm still thinking of this book.

so promising but the actual interesting mystery plot the synopsis describes is swallowed up almost entirely by a convoluted, ultimately pretty "meh" police procedural

I liked it! The plot twist of the other detective being the person who did it I didn’t see coming until towards the very end, and there were so many different things happening and people they were looking into and all the girlfriends that it made it interesting but also not so many things you couldn’t keep track. Also the main character Jo being autistic and that being an aspect that was just generally brought into her being I really liked and hadn’t realized until this book the lack of neurodivergent main characters and how that totally makes most main characters different? I liked it! Also not the craziest or most sucking-you-in book I’ve ever read but kept me hooked
