I really appreciated reading about an autistic woman who is hyperlexic, just like me. I felt so reflected by Jo and loved seeing how she developed over the course of the story.
Can’t wait for the sequel! I almost gave this book 4 stars because I liked it but there were so many interesting plot lines unfinished, glad it’s book one in a series.

I loved the characters, mystery, setting, and denouement at the end but as someone with ADHD I sometimes had trouble keeping up with the major plot points of the mystery which is ironic because the story is full of neurodivergence which is cool representation. But that’s just a me thing I think!

The story kept me on my toes, and I was curious to know more about the murder/mysteries. I did not anticipate much of it, which was refreshing; I was surprised! However, I felt the explanations and logic of motive and relationships were quick. I had trouble focusing on the bigger picture, and I felt like the characters were hinting at things and puzzling things together, but I was left in the blank. It still answered some of my questions by the end, but I feel like a lot of the book missed context and more backstory. The end and unfurling of the mysteries felt rushed in this way
