I mean... its easily the least obviously racist and sexist of his stories and benefits from that big time! (Mainly because it takes place where everyone human is a white male) But the story's slow, cumulative pace combined with its deep-time premise arent quite as successful as earlier efforts on analogous fronts like Conan Doyle's Terror of the Blue John Gap.

Es ist vielleicht ein Zeichen von Dekadenz oder Abstumpfung, aber Albino-Pinguine vermögen im Jahr 2020 nicht mehr wirklich, mich zu beunruhigen.

Did he mention they were the MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS??!! Yes, yes he did.

Also very informative as a D&D player.

"Liking" this book is unlikely, no matter how well Lovecraft told his story. It was not designed for pleasant reading. By the middle of the story, he was beginning to paint layer upon layer of increasing horror onto the tale he was telling. I'll probably never have to read this one again.
