I loved the first book in this series, but think I loved book two just a little bit more. I enjoyed Deanna's slow introduction to the real world/outside relationships while also still appreciating the confines as well as the struggles of 6E. This is definitely not a series to be read out of order or spaced in-between reads, and I am excited to continue with Deanna's journey. Cam girls got it rough.

Do Not Disturb by A. R. Torre was more suspenseful than the first, but I think that had to do with the lens this story was set up through given Deanna’s tendencies and the insanity of some individuals. These books are good, but they are certainly not for certain people, so I HIGHLY recommend reading the content warnings, especially if you’re like me and typically go into a book blind. I am not easily triggered or turned of by books due to content reasons, but this series has been graphic in more ways than one, so it’s just a friendly note for my reading friends who do find themselves to be more sensitive, especially to certain topics surround misogyny, sexism, and sex work. I think that these books have a fun concept, that helps shine light in a variety of different issues, but they do not hold back, which can certainly be overwhelming for some readers. I really like the plot and characters in this book, as well as the one before it, so if you can stomach the gritty bits, this is a suspense worth checking out (after you’ve read the first in the series, of course).

Really enjoyed this, a super fast paced tense read that I got through in mostly 2 days.

A darker and more graphic read than the first in the series, especially the sexual violence so big trigger warnings there.

Both books in the series I've found to be slightly cringey at first with the whole 'im so dark and evil and dangerous', but it definitely tones down once you're reintroduced to the character and the plot gets going. The reading experience will definitely benefit from a lil suspension of disbelief, but then you're in for a good time.

The romance element of this was a surprise but not a bad one. I'm not really a romance person so it didn't add much for me but it was a fun way to explore our main character a bit more. One thing I do have to say about the romance though is it felt very fast for me personally. For someone who's been shut up and isolated for 3 years, she gets attached and let's herself become vulnerable reaaal quick.

I also oddly found the main character a little less likeable in this one. Despite the whole murderous tendencies I actually kinda grew attached to her in the first one, but in this one she just came across a little more bitchy, especially in her interaction with Jamie, the only female character she really interacts with. Didn't really vibe with the girl hate and competitiveness. Really enjoyed getting to know Mike better though.

I really did have fun with this though (not sure 'fun' is the right word when it comes to the difficult to read scenes of sexual violence but yknow what I mean), definitely invested in the plot and the characters, and excited to continue the series.

I think I'm going with a 3.5 here. I liked most of it but I was hoping for more in the way of Deanna finding her way, finding a way to satiate her needs in a way that worked for her but instead it was a wee bit too romance heavy and leaned on the "the love of a good man is fixing me" trope and something about that just doesn't sit right with me. Unless, of course, I read it wrong and in that case, I'm sure someone will tell me soon enough.

But seriously at one point she even says something like "This love might be my salvation ." I want her to be her own salvation and find a man who will love and support and murder with her, hahahaha.

The villain was a disgusting monster which is to be expected but his obsession was a little hard to swallow which was another little issue for me. I didn't understand why he'd possibly put his freedom in peril to do, well, what he planned to do . . . He seemed smarter than that even with his pathetically inflated ego.

I'm sorry I'm like this but I have to be honest. I do recommend it though. It's a very high 3 star, an almost-but-not-quite 4 star read. I'll be reading the next one and also reading more of her other work because I do enjoy the way she writes very much. It's sexy and dark but this one wasn't my most favorite but it also wasn't my least favorite.

Damn, I really hate the three reviews the most.

This one is much darker than the first. It's genuinely hard to read at points, given the chapters from the perspective of the very very vile villain. Check the content warnings even if you loved the first
