Sejujurnya saya cukup capek baca ratusan halaman berisi tokoh-tokoh yang---mengutip pendapat yang disampaikan Rachel Chu dengan baik sekali---"hidupnya berkisar seputar mencari uang, menghabiskan uang, memamerkan uang, membandingkan uang, menyembunyikan uang, mengendalikan orang lain dengan uang, dan menghancurkan hidup mereka dengan uang." Tapi saya cukup menyukai beberapa karakternya, dan terutama suka dengan pengetahuan kultural baru yang didapat dari sini: pengetahuan tentang gaya hidup keluarga kelas atas kaya raya keturunan Cina di Singapura.

— this book is definitely my ultimate comfort read!
it’s been a while since i read it and i figured out that i needed to reread now that i officially live in singapore!
i love this little world and the characters that kwan has created so much, what a wonderful way to start this new chapter ! :)

— this book is a hundred times better when you can get the little jokes about certain neighborhoods and ugh i just love this book so much i wish i lived in THAT singapore lol
