Besides making it seem like the only honest people are in jail and Florida is really messed up, this was a pretty good read. Seriously, this was rather well written and despite the numerous characters I could keep things straight most of the time.

heard someone say "Grisham is BACK" in relation to this one.
would agree with them.
having not read a good many of his recent ones, i took the gamble, grabbed this one, and couldn't put it down.
hoping it is not a current anomaly in that regard. well worth people becoming a fan again.

This novel is a masterclass in storytelling, showcasing Grisham at his peak. The plotting is superb, the characters are engaging, and the twists and turns are both plentiful and truly shocking. While the book delivers the suspense and legal drama that Grisham is known for, it also carries a strong emotional core that sets it apart.

What makes this novel especially compelling is its exploration of death row inmates—individuals who feel that the justice system has failed them, chewing them up and spitting them out without a fair chance. This aspect adds a deeply human and thought-provoking layer to the story, making it more than just a legal thriller.
