Love the characters and their mission. The story bogged down in the middle, but the ending didn’t disappoint.

I liked this one a little better than the last few Grisham novels. I liked that the story was based on real cases although I didn't discover that until the author's note at the end.

Fun, enjoyable, easy read. Maybe closer to 3.5 stars, but rounding up. Story was pretty straight forward. Maybe a missed opportunity with the drug cartel, but I’m glad Grisham mostly kept the focus on Miller (and the protagonist’s other clients).

Let me just say, if it wasn’t for school, and a book slump, i would have read tgis book so much faster. I loved every little detail and how it all went down. The book inspired by  atrue story makes it so much saddrr but also truthful. The concept was unique and very well executed, but to know that it very much happenes in real life hurts. Would absolutely recommend if you’re interested in mystery with an unique plot.

I really enjoy reading books about liberating a wrongfully convicted person. To spend 20 odd years in prison and then get out, wow, what that must be like. And to have this brilliant novel based off a true story just makes the whole thing that much sweeter.

Probably more like a 3.5. While I jumped right in and enjoyed the start of this book, by the end I just wanted it over and that’s not usual for me. I like long books in general, but this one seemed a little repetitive and unnecessarily drawn out. There was no big twist or legal reveal. I still enjoyed a lot of the book and it opened my eyes to the real issue of innocent people being imprisoned. I also liked the author’s note at the end. Just a so-so read for me.
