Bears is written by Jen Green and is apart of an informational animal series called Amazing Animal Hunters.  This book was published in 2011.  This would be a great book for students who are in second through fifth grade.  There are many text features such as charts, pictures, and diagrams to help the reader understand and learn the information from the book in a deeper way.  The book is about bears and the different type of bears around the world.  It gives specific information about a few different bears including their size, eating habits, and where they live around the world.  This book would work well when teaching about text features for informational text.  It could also be used as a choice book in the classroom.  There are many text features present in the book such as a table of contents, captions, diagrams, titles, subtitles, maps, an index, and a glossary.  There is also a list of resources students can use to learn more about bears. <non-fiction> <nature> <bears>
