So even though it's been more than a year this book still haunts me. I think I will remove my rating and keep it blank because that is how I feel about this book. It's neutral , and it's not my favorite book either. I only liked it for the writing style and Lolita (as she is the only good character) and I don't think I can ever re-read this again.

this book has been swimming around my head for a while. I even rated it previously and instantly deleted my rating because I was so embarrassed to and worried about being judged by others. But to be frank this book comes with a penalty for the reader, so well we can't escape it. But it is upto the reader to make the leap. You have a choice to either read it and understand it, or close the book and pick up another pleasant book that isn't narrated by a pedophile.

I'm not sure how to rate this book. However Nabokov's writing style is quite unique that one might not be able to deny the effect it has on the (implied) reader. However I need to give this novel a second or third re-reread to determine my thoughts on the novel as a whole. Not that it didn't impact me in any way, but I'm just delaying my review for another time.
(Read for the Nabokov class)

Cannot posaibly overstate how absolutely fucking baffling and frustrating it is that this book's cultural footprint amounted to either "love story" or #girl #aesthetic #nymphetcore and that this footprint is often left in the proverbial earth by young women (!!)
I hated every word of this book and of this man. Spectacular writing.
