No, cannot do it...I only got to page 30 after three weeks of attempting to read it before giving up. I kept hesitating to pick it up and continue with it. My skin was crawling after only 30 pages and he hadn't met Lolita yet!! Just.too.creepy.

started with the physical version and got to page 222, after which i switched to the audiobook format because it was taking too long.
a very poetic and dense book. i don’t feel like the most suited person to rate this book but alas. i enjoyed tidbits of it here and there, for example, where HH displayed his wicked behavior and how he was sort of aware that it couldn’t be dignified. i also enjoyed that he was an unreliable narrator, though at the same time i feel as though this fact was what kept making the book feel very fever-dreamish due to how mixed up everything could be.
solid book, definitely not for me at all.
my rating is mainly based on how much i enjoyed it and not so much how well-written i think it is as this is a very old book and i believe that it can’t be fully examined by me due to the fact that i read this 70+ years after it’s release. times and tastes have changed.
feel like i just blabbered on in circles, so anyhow

Self-aware paedophile writes a memoir.
I thought I would dislike the book but HH's humour and self-awareness combined with beautiful wordplay makes it hard to.

It'd been about a decade since I read it for the first time. I’ve read it even more slowly than the first time around, pondering over practically every passage. Nabokov’s prose is simply sublime, and Dolores’s character is one of those that stays with you forever, with how much one can pour and read into her.
