Each month, during the full moon, a monster causes horror to spread through Tarker's Mills.
❤️ This is a super quick novella to read, and I enjoyed it. I like the monthly layout of events and the reveal of the werewolf.
💔 In general, Im just not a big fan of novellas and short stories. I want more depth and even with this simple premise, would have liked a bit more.
🎀 I wish this book had been longer with a bit of mystery and clues to who is the werewolf. I think it could have been a "fun", horror read.

Loved this graphic novel by Stephen King. The illustrations by Berni Wrightson are amazing! I read this book in one sitting and loved every page.

Well, that certainly was a mid werewolf story. I suppose it feels very King-ish because of the changing PoV structure with most characters showing up and immediately dying to the werewolf, but beyond that, it's kinda sauceless and ends up feeling like a slasher movie's highlights reel.

A dark novella told in a unique cyclical format that was easy to read (when it wasn't being fatphobic, ableist, racist, or discriminating against non-catholic religions).
Aside from the degrading and outdated narration, the werewolf's identity was extremely obvious from the beginning while the illustrations appeared far too early in the story. Altogether, this wasn't a great first impression to King's storytelling.
