Be advised going in that this is not a standalone. I know some people hate it. I don't mind because if it's good enough, and I wanna know, I'll just get the next book. And I'll get the next one. I really enjoyed this book. It's a great set-up, and I really want to see what happens with Jax and Haley. I'm glad the "big mystery" came out in the first book, too.
Good Rockstar Romance but ends on a cliffhanger
I had read the Travesty Series by Piper Lawson and enjoyed them because each book was about an individual couple. So I was a bit reluctant to start the Wicked series because I knew that all three books are about the same couple. But when the boxed set came out, I binge read them in the space of a few days.
However, this review is based solely on the first book, Good Girl. I really liked how strong Haley is and that she wouldn’t take any rubbish from Jax. Their chemistry is great and I really liked how she didn’t turn into a pile of fan girl when she met him and realised he was just a normal guy. However, the twist at the end which created the cliffhanger was a little bit predictable and I thought Jax could’ve handled the situation better. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book, especially as it’s so easy in the boxed set! Side note: when he called her Hales, it gave me real One Tree Hill vibes and that’s my favourite so it made me very happy!

Love this book. I have such a soft spot for hot rock stars. And Haley was super relatable to me. Like me, Haley isn’t very social and isn’t a fan of being touched by strangers. I also want to thank the author for giving us a heroine with such a cool job. There wasn’t much steaminess in this installment. This is a slow burn romance and it’s still building up. Part one ends on a cliffhanger, so hopefully things will heat up in the next book.
Love
Absolutely love this series!! I need more of the series! I can't wait to see what else she comes out with

Let me start by saying that this book was my teenage dream written on paper. The thought of getting to travel with a rock star and be behind the scenes on the tour was literally my goal as a teenager, so this book was literally perfect to me.
The plot line was amazing, I loved the way everything panned out and developed, it didn't feel rushed once and had a real slow burn feel to it. If anything that made it feel more believable and relatable as a real relationship.
Whilst there weren't many sexual scenes in the book there was a LOT of unresolved tension which the Piper Lawson did an excellent job of writing, it didn't feel cheap or overdone at any point.
I feel that we were let down a little bit with the lack of history in the book, it was very much in the now and we didn't get chance to learn anything about Haley's background. Which I was disappointed about as it played a large part of the story!
Character wise I love Jax and Haley, but I wish we got the same depth to some of the other characters as we did to them, some others were mentioned just as much but the author didn't give them the same attention.
I will say though they were developed enough that background to the story made sense and there were no plot holes and I do appreciate that the story was about Jax and Haley not the minor characters!
I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who will listen, I loved it and I couldn't wait to get stuck into the next two and see where Jax and Haley ended up.

Haley lands herself a job being back up for the sound guys job on tour for Jax Jameson. She’s busy developing an app and finds she can learn so much from going with them.
But she didn’t expect to have much in common with Jax, the least of all falling for him. Being friends and then more especially after their first meet up is disastrous! Can they take it further?
This was my first Piper Lawson book and I couldn’t wait to get the second downloaded and see what happens next!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m loving this series! The first book is on KU but the rest are not, just FYI. BUT, i loved this story enough that i bought the next books so…
It’s a cute story but I’m annoyed that it seems to end on a cliffhanger with most of the story unfinished. Seems like a ploy to get you to buy the next book rather than be confident people will want to read on based on interest in the characters alone.

This has been on my tbr for a while and i’m so glad i finally got round to reading it.
This slow burn rockstar / computer wiz romance has so many ups and downs it makes you want to keep reading.
Haley gets hired as an intern to work the sound booth on tour for the legend that is Jax Jamison. The chemistry between the two is spot on but he is 8 years older and rule three of being on tour is “thou shalt not fraternise with the crew or the artists”
