Eh. It was okay? I’m just always annoyed at books that get split when they really didn’t need to be.

So, I hated Jax in the Rivals series but I loved Annie (Jax daughter) and Tyler so much that I wanted more of their past as children... so I decided to read this series and I really liked Haley! Jax... was hot I guess. I understand why Haley is attracted to him but I'm still not in love with him. Overall, I enjoyed it.
I loved this book so very much.

This was a bit of a departure from the format of Lawson's other books and I personally found the cliffhangers really heartwrenching and a bit frustrating, in that, "omg I've got to know what happens next, you're killing me" kind of way. I also thought that this series felt very much like one continuous book as opposed to a series, probably because it focuses solely on one couple.
The couple... Jax and Haley totally grew on me. But, I will say that they really had to grow on me. I liked Jax's whole broody rockstar thing from the beginning, but he was also legitimately an asshole to Haley for the first half of the book. I knew that Lawson would bring it all around, but I had a really hard time getting on board with him. Also, Haley is quirky. Not in an adorkable or manic pixie dream girl kind of a way, but in a very unique character way. I really liked her and I didn't initially see her sparking with Jax.
And that slow burn. See above: "you're killing me". Payoff was totally worth it, but holy hell. Just do yourself a favor and buy and read all three at once.

4 stars!! This was sweet! I just finished the series, and while I do admit that it's a very cookie-cutter rockstar romance it's still cute and I thoroughly enjoyed them :)
