When the plot was plotting it was good but the pacing was too slow for me. I found there to be a lot of lulls. I enjoyed the world, folklore, and story. I wasn’t sold on the romance though. I didn’t feel the tension or see the chemistry. Great ideas, I just didn’t like the execution. I’m curious enough to pick up book 2 and see how it wraps up

A fantasy novel that portrays mental health in a normal, realistic way? Count me in! I love that it keeps you guessing the entire time, and has one of the best portrayals of fate that I've seen so far!!! If you want a badass FMC who has realistic reactions, a snarky take no shit attitude, and balls of steel, you want Reagan!! If you want your MMC to have shadow daddy vibes and the lyrics "no grave can hold my body down, I'll crawl home to her" apply, say HELLO to Oberon. I loved this book and can't wait to read the next one. Talk about a cliffhanger!!
This book was so sweet and unique! I really enjoyed how the characters were a bit older. Loved the way this author explored the themes of grief and loss. Super slow the first half but the ending wow wow wow
