This has been sitting on my shelf for who knows how many years and now I know why. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great. I probably would have it enjoyed it more as a teenager but not as a 20 something. I liked the premise of it, I just don't think it was executed very well. The writing style was on point for a 14 year old boy but I just couldn't get on with it. Also there was a very violent and bloody section that didn't sit well with me and all I could think was "these are kids!" Overall pretty meh.

This book was so strange but oddly intriguing. The voice of Samuel L Jackson and everything that enters into the life of Colin is indeed strange and likeable.
