One of those reading experiences where I can say that I've read it and if you reference it I'll know what you're talking about but I could not give you a clear answer as to 1) the plot 2) the importance 3) what I thought about it. Witty and hilarious from the get, and I was really having a ball until I lost steam about halfway through. Vonnegut just kept hurling bizarre plot devices and biting comments that were occasionally pretty smart and occasionally just racist / sexist / mean to people with dwarfism. I admire the tenacity and am glad to have finally read one of his books. Will be picking up another and maybe circling back to Cat's Cradle when I'm old and wise
Very easy read with a different take on how to end the world as we know it.

full of wit and dry humour, this was a fun read. the plot was a thin line but the vibes do the heavy lifting. made me want to read more of Vonnegut.

Vonnegut is a master at his craft, who writes with razor-sharp precision and has a tone of voice uniquely his own. There are so many banger passages in this novel that I made note of. That being said, this book wasn't for me. The point is pointlessness and the absurdity of the human condition, but the narrative never inspired me to keep reading. Only the ticking page count and the race to move on from this book. I'm glad I read it, gladder that I'm done reading it.
