I read this for a book club. I guess I don't like irreverent books. Sure there were some satirical statements in here about religion, nations, etc., but the only thing that resonated with me was what appeared to be an unironic speech made by Minton about mourning soldiers as murdered children who had to accept their deaths as men. I found a lot of this to just be frustrating to read because I didn't like the tone, and there are also some slurs and statements in here that may have been acceptable at the time of publishing, but which are certainly not acceptable now and were jarring to read.

I'm late to the party to read Vonnegut, but this book cements the fact that I love him. His writing is totally insane in the best way.

Cat's Cradle has it's flaws, which keep it from being the 5 star "perfect" book (if there is such a thing) that it could've been.
But I loved its construction and laughed and smiled my way through all 127 chapters/episodes.
