I don’t know if I love books too easily or I only read amazing books, but this book is so weird and awesome. I feel like half of the allusions and jokes flew over my head, but it only makes me more excited to come back to it in 20 years when I’ve (hopefully) forgotten what I’ve read. I think I say this every time I review a book, I’m terrible at explaining why I enjoyed the story so much, because why reiterate the commentary on religion, technology, and human nature when it’s been pointed out by the millions before me. I think it’s just comforting to know that everyone was, is, and will be as stupid as me. Busy busy busy

i wish i was in a junior AP lit class to unpack everything. not my favorite vonnegut but when he’s on the nose, boy does it give me a good laugh.
Peaking at the center of the beating, bleeding heart of the universe expecting to catch a glimpse, just short of the event horizon, even for a second, a microsecond, of the secret answers that explain all of this stuff we’re feeling and seeing and breathing and eating and running from and running toward every single day… and instead… seeing a silly little mustachioed Hoosier picking his nose and sticking his tongue out at you… but somehow… still… coming away with the same knowledge… the same *exact* knowledge, actually… you were looking for in the first place.
