honestly, i had high expectations because of the movie. i thought the movie was dumb fun and wanted more of valerian and laureline. i read this thinking i would get more.

instead, i just got information dumps, walls of text, and outdated art. i was expecting space and heists but i ended up getting time travel and earth.

my plan to use this as a buffer read between books, but obviously that failed…

Good but not great. Clearly ahead of it's time but felt a little dated and lost in translation.

This seems like a good introduction to the characters in this first book in the series of graphic novels concerning Valerian and Laureline. Bought and read as I was interested in the original of the upcoming film. It has definitely got me intrigued to read the rest of the series.

I love me some time travel as a plot device, because it can make for a very fun read if done correctly. It was well done here, and paired with some likable characters this was an enjoyable first entry to the series.

Meh. Given the hype I was disappointed. Maybe if I went in cold I would have enjoyed it more.

Not into reading comic books. Might read the next one since the first one was just 'meh' for me.

The first book in the valerian and laureline series. High pulp fantasy that shows its age. Entertaining but not very original.

Nice mindless French sci fi here. Still feels like it's finding it's feet but it's fun.
