I love how accessible the format of this book was to tell this beautiful, incredible story. Highly recommend.

This was a brilliant story of loss, hope and resilience. The illustration style is lovely and I learnt a lot about Dadaab refugee camp. It was interesting reading this so soon after They Called Us Enemy by George Takei. Mohamed and Takei's stories are quite different but there were similarities in their situations and in the tone of the narratives.

A fantastic graphic novel about Omar's life in a refugee camp in Kenya. His brother is nonverbal and is prone to seizures. I learned a lot about Omar's life and I loved the author's note at the end from Omar providing resources. Lancaster, PA is close to me and I'll be checking out those resources. Highly recommend!

This is such an important story, and I think it works so well in graphic novel format. Omar's story is one that too many kids can likely relate to, and it's important for others to be able to see it. I don't think there are many kid's graphic novels that cover this topic, but I'm glad that this one does!
