A beautiful, personal memoir about life for a young Somali boy in refugee camp in Kenya, and the incredibly difficult, years-long journey refugees face in seeking both resettlement and reuniting their families.
Moderate: War and Gun violence
He tells a UN worker the events that led to his refugee status. It's obviously horrible.rini's review against another edition

A fantastic graphic novel about Omar's life in a refugee camp in Kenya. His brother is nonverbal and is prone to seizures. I learned a lot about Omar's life and I loved the author's note at the end from Omar providing resources. Lancaster, PA is close to me and I'll be checking out those resources. Highly recommend!
Moderate: Gun violence, Violence, Pregnancy, Panic attacks/disorders, Death, Death of parent, and Ableism
