Of all the plot twists that could have happened, THIS was the ending? I'm so disappointed to be completely honest. I'm really giving it 3 stars because it got me from the very beginning but after reading the 70% of the book it went downhill oh god, no. I cannot even say how sad, frustrared I am. Like no, I can't.

This book swaps between Viv and Carly's POVs in a past/present timeline. They both leave their hometowns in search of something meaningful. Carly is looking for clues to her Aunt Viv's disappearance and Viv is trying to escape her home life and stumbles upon the mystery of the Sun Down Motel.

This book is really well written. I enjoyed the paranormal aspects and how the mystery evolves around the ghosts. I also loved the setting of the motel. I could really picture it in my mind and imagine the pain that had happened in that place. It is also pretty creepy to think about.

This was a medium-paced story, and it kept me interested the entire time. I did enjoy the paranormal scenes more than the other parts. It all came together, and the ending was exciting! Can't wait to read more by St. James.
