It's a cute, quick read.

I'd say Adventures in Funeral Crashing is most enjoyable when you need a break for those busy, suffocating days. It just rolls right out, glides down, and makes you forget for a blissful couple of hours that there are other things in the world other than Kait and Ethan's obliviousness.

However, this is not for those who love a deep, twisting mystery. Sure, there is that whole murder investigation, but I, for one, saw the ending from miles away--at least, I had a very strong suspicion.
I mean, first rule: the most obvious suspect is rarely the one who actually did it, so I knew it couldn't be Troy. It would've been too easy, too... everything. I knew right away that girl who sent Liz the Email Troy was dating her did it. It just screamed crazy, possessive stalker. Especially when Kait was told other girls who dated him thought he was cheating. I just didn't know who that crazy person was, yet. But after that, we were down to just two suspects: Vanessa's sister (Jenna) or Suzie. And Suzie was never really an option. I did find it peculiar that Vanessa/Jenna used the names of authors Suzie was reading to send her emails (too bad that was never explained), but Suzie was too damn sweet for it, and if she liked Kyle, she couldn't possibly be a crazy stalker in love with Troy, could she?
Now we were down to one: Vanessa. First of all, the moment Troy told them he dated Jenna, the switch was completely obvious. I had my suspicions before, but after that it was, like, "Okay, Jenna is not Jenna. Jenna is Vanessa." Seriously. And I was damn right. A bit disappointing, really. I wanted it to be someone else entirely, someone surprising.

But this isn't a book meant to surprise you. It is, in the end, a romance story about the unpopular girl and the school's hottie. Cinderella all over again - but I happen to like Cinderella and romance, so I'm fine with it. I did wish there was more to the investigation, but I guess they did fine for someone their age or something. Still, I like a good mystery novel, and this is not that.

What I disliked about this book was the repetition. Like the Milkshake thing. God, how many times are you going to tell us it's heaven on earth or mention it? And just for that last sentence... It drove me mad. Or how hot he was. Was she really only interested in him because he was hot? Obviously, we know it ain't so, but at times it really seemed like that.

Still a fun read, definitely. Super cute. I will be reading the next book in the series. Hopefully, there will be more romance, and it will not try to disguise itself as a mystery novel because you need more than just a murder to write something like that...

I really liked this book. It read really easy and I liked that it actually felt like a teen was talking. Sometimes, especially in the beginning you got that feeling that Kait was rambling, like she would just talk about what ever popped into her head which I found very endearing reminding me of my almost teen niece and her speak.

The story itself was interesting, a girl crashing furnerals after her mother's death leads her to Ethan's sisters funeral and off on a murder mystery adventure with the hottest guy from school. It was a little unbelievable but it worked. It def. kept me entertained and I liked the subtle way that Ethan came around and fell for Kait. Those "meddling kids" sure got lucky in the end and Kait got her Homecoming wish.

I look forward to reading the 2nd installment to the series, hope it's as entertaining as the first.

A fun, quick and mostly lighthearted read. It's not really explained what makes Kait the weird kid, especially considering her funeral crashing only started post starting high school. More into her relationship with Ariel would have been great.

This was okay. It was a very light little read. There wasn't a whole lot of depth, but it was an adequate YA mystery. It was easy treadmill reading.

pretty good. got for free on kindle so well worth it in my opinion. kait is funny, if not overly enthusiastic at times. ethan is definitely character crush worthy, and the plot actually kept me guessing the whole time. i did guess the ending, but then i changed my mind and was surprised at the end. light and fun, this definitely gave me a pick me up from some more intense reads ive been going for recently. check it out while its still free on amazon :)

()I received this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.)

have to admit, I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style in the beginning but it eventually grew on me. It flowed really nicely and made it a quick read.

I love that the main characters name is similar to mine, Kait! She is kind of a loser in school. She is also considered a freak by some, like her ex-best friend April, because likes to funeral crash for fun.

At one funeral she runs into Riley, the hottest guy from school. It turns out his sister died. Riley thinks she's been murdered. He ends up enlisting Kait to help him find out who did it.

It's a cute story that follows Kait and Riley through their own murder investigation. I really enjoyed watching the relationship between them blossom.

If you're looking for a cute, quick YA read then I would recommend this!

Kait has a habit of crashing funerals and crashing one of a victim of a herion OD leaves Kait face to face with Ethan the most popular guy at school, who also thinks the victim, his sister, was murdered. Intrigued, Kait offers to help Ethan figure out the truth.

Now the story is super cute in a Veronica Mars kind of way, but if Veronica Mars was annoyingly focused on hot, popular boys and not very funny. Kait just can't let it drop that she's hanging out with the most popular guy in school. I swear she thinks about that more than she does the murder case she's supposed to be on. It's really annoying, especially at first and had me skimming the first few chapters. Between that and the copious editing issues, I almost put it down, but didn't and In the end, I actually kind of liked it. It's book one in a series and if the editing had been better or Kait less annoying I'd continue the series, but the only way that is happening is if the books are free. I wouldn't recommend the book, but I wouldn't not recommend it either. It's just kind of a blah book, which is sad because it had so much potential.

Very unconventional mystery. A teenage girl likes to crash funerals and while she is at a college girl's funeral, Kait stumbles onto a potential serial killer situation. This book is also full of typical teenage angst and puppy-dog love and crushes. It also contains one of my biggest pet peeves. It had a little “She’s eating a salad. I’m a ‘real’ girl, I’m eating a burger” moment. As always, I don’t find these necessary. It was a fun read all in all.

Cute and fun

This story was simple and kind of predictable, but the writer did a great job of making me feel like I was really inside the head of the protagonist. I think a lot of teens will see themselves in her quirkiness and self-doubt and relate to her problems with back-stabbing friends and unattainable boys.
