I’m not sure what to rate this book right now because I can’t decide if I love it or hate it. It’s dark and sinister, but not necessarily suspenseful or thrilling which makes it a bit of a slow burn especially for how short this book is. Though it does have a pretty disturbing twist. I just didn’t find myself wanting to pick it up and keep reading, but I also can’t stop thinking about it now. The author did a great job writing a very flawed (almost unlikable) narrator that we could still sympathize with. The writing style takes a bit to get used to because the narrator goes on tangents and addresses a lot of topics like feminism, racism, classism, Islamophobia…it all makes sense in the end on why it was written like this. Overall, a very unique book.
