This next chapter following lovable, slightly socially challenged Victor Bayne, sees him adjusting to his new work partner as they investigate a trio of missing persons. On a personal front, he's in a more established relationship with boyfriend and fellow cop Jacob Marks, and I loved reading about them as a couple.

The author continues to inject quirky insecurity in Victor's voice - he's not the suavest detective out there, and he's got to be the most squeamish medium around! Like Jacob, I found him to be loveable and relatable, faults and all. He's a bit inexperienced in the relationship department but you can see he's making an effort and wants to be the best boyfriend back. Also he's coming into his own and acquiring a little more confidence and assertiveness on the job which was fun to witness. As always the hot factor is still high in this (with a touch of dirty thrown in this time) - and I say that's always a good thing.

I liked the 2nd installment better, but I still love the series.

I'm really enjoying this series. I love supernatural/paranormal so this has been super fun! I'm looking forward to the next book.

And I'm finally sinking into Gomez Pugh as the narrator. I think my problem with him is when he does Jacob's voice. He goes deeper and it throws me for some reason. But it's growing on me (after three books, lol!).

Normally novella-formatted long series irk me, but it really works for this story. I'm enjoying learning more about Victor (and Jacob) with each installment. Super curious what's up with Lisa and concerned about this whole Crash thing. Looking forward to seeing what's next.

4.5 Stars - Another great addition to the Psy-Cop series! Body and Soul was witty, quirky and ghastly all at once with a little sexy thrown in.

It was great to see Vic and Jacob’s relationship move further along; meeting Jacob’s extended family and planning to move into a new home together – if they can find one that’s not haunted. Meanwhile life goes on – or death in this case – and Vic has a new Stiff partner to break in as he attempts to solve a case of missing persons, which they are sure didn’t end well.

I loved the banter and the ghosts. I loved Vic’s voice and how the author is able to show us Jacob’s feelings for Vic without Vic entirely realizing them.

I am intrigued by the continued references to Camp Hell and am looking forward to continuing the series to find out about this dastardly place. As this is only book 3 and the series is currently out to book 7, I have some reading to do!

I highly recommend this paranormal series!

This book is a key example of what makes me squeamish. Actually, having phantom limbs bobbing about totally just freaks me out. But at least, Vic is right there getting sick with me. Body and Soul starts off with Vic and Jacob at Thanksgiving dinner with Jacob's family. Everything is going as well as any Thanksgiving dinner could be expected to go, when Vic gets a call back on a missing persons case. Vic meets his new non-psychic partner, Zigler, and his first impression isn't good.

Vic hasn't had the best luck with his previous PsyCop partners and Lisa, with her si-no psychic abilities, has cut him off. Zigler looks and acts like a typical cop, but seems to be a good guy who knows what he's doing. Zigler had his doubts about Vic's ability, but the distrust doesn't last too long. This missing persons case is interesting and has Vic and Zigler wandering all over town. No bodies have turned up, so Vic is just going around looking for bodies, instead of the usual of Vic showing up where the bodies are to talk to the dead who might be lingering by after a homicide.

Zigler froze. I guess the weather had finally gotten to him. He stared. The dead guy stared. I barely resisted the urge to flop down and make a snow angel just for the sake of being different.

I loved the mystery aspect of this story a lot. Or maybe that could attributed to a certain whiner Vic has to deal with at the end. Crash is as interesting as ever, and can I just rename Jacob to Mr. Sexy Pants in all these reviews from now on? Because I will. Basically, any scene with Vic and Jacob together is HOT. Just...yeah. *fans self* And then, this book puts out a suggestion of a threesome involving Vic, Jacob, and Crash. Doesn't seem like it'll happen, but this is only book three and so far there's eight full-length books out  so far, so I guess anything could still happen at this point.

Funny, the fine line between a total turn-off and a kink.

Throughout this book, Vic and Jacob are thinking about moving in together and go house hunting and it turns into a House Hunters episode. Turns out, Jacob has a lot of requirements for a house, but the most important thing is that Vic needs a place that isn't haunted. The ending for this book is super adorable and lovely between Vic and Jacob.

Vic is his usual anxious dorky self and I don't know if I've ever loved a character more? He's just very endearing to read about and I just want to give him a hug. I really liked this book, so on to the next one!!

These books just get better and better. I am really enjoying the way Vic and Jacob's relationship is developing, and the whole house searching ordeal and how that evolved was awesome. And what about Lisa? Must keep reading!
