finished this a couple of days ago- super short addition to my fav horror sub-genre (haunted houses)!
quite an interesting and artsy read. quite an intense and eerie story. there are parts that are more effective than others, but overall the emotional ramping really draws you in that those smaller details dont really take focus.
i am a fan of shorter and effective books- but i think this book couldve benefitted from a bit more length to make it feel more polished. meh!
i have not seen the movie, but i cannot imagine it follows the actual book’s overall vibe.

Eager to read Kehlmann's latest novel to get an English translation, having read an intriguing review, I grabbed this because it was readily available. Brisk, dark, semi-upsetting.
