Not bad. It's A LOT like Twilight, but not quite as good. It was written way before Twilight, though, so it's not just some cheesy rip-off. I would have liked the book better if Stefan, the main love interest, wasn't so weak. Every time Elena got herself into trouble, I couldn't help but think "Well, Edward would have been there to save her." Meanwhile Stefan is nowhere in sight. *yawn* Will pick up the rest of the series though.

These books are so captivating that I hated when i finished them because i wanted them to never end. I love Elena, Stefan, Even Damon (Though hes not that nice in these) the story captivated me and had all of my attention because it was just that good.
So I started this series BEFORE I knew there would be a TV show.. and I actually liked the books. When I heard there was to be a show, I was super happy... Turns out I love..love..LOVE the show. So much that I can't even pick up the rest of the book series.. they just seem to flat to me now. Not to mention all the differences between the two. I simply won't be finishing this book series.. or at least not in the near future. Its such a shame.. I probably should have read all the books before watching the shows.. but I had no idea they would be so different.. or the show SO GOOD. Maybe someday I'll get around to reading them.. Maybe.
